Curatorial Narrative As we consider “Le quai des Grands Augustins” from 1905, created during the Impressionist era, it is evident that Albert Marquet’s painting embodies the quintessential characteristics of this movement. Notably, Marquet’s brushwork is a defining feature of his work, often employing impasto techniques to achieve a textured quality that lends an almost three-dimensional aspect to the composition.
